South Western Victoria

Tour Victoria's beautiful south west coast via the Great Ocean Road, followed by wandering through the magnificent Grampians National Park.

AWAYWEGO MOTORHOMES SELF DRIVE TOUR

Although we have described a 5 day tour, you can take your time and book for longer.

DAY 1

For those arriving at the airport, simply catch the Melbourne Airport Shuttle Bus to Ballarat. You can either immediately pick up your motorhome from AwayWeGo Motorhomes, or take the time to explore Ballarat overnight.

From Ballarat, drive down the Midland Highway, through Geelong to Torquay, and from there commence your tour along the Great Ocean Road. Make sure you take time to stop and view the 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, as well as any number of sign posted stops along the way.

Stop and stay at Port Campbell overnight in luxury in your self contained motorhome.

DAY 2

Continue traveling along the Great Ocean Road. Head up to Timboon. Check out the local Cheese and Ice Cream Factory, continue onto Warrnambool, and visit the Wool Factory and the Maritime Village. From June to November you will be able to watch for whales.

Travel onto Port Fairy and then stay at our AwayWeGo Retreat at Narrawong overnight. Narrawong has direct beach access for fishing, surfing, etc.

DAY 3

Travel through Portland to Cape Bridgewater, where there are seals, blowholes, a petrified rock forest to view. Check out the local cafés, Seal Cove tours, caves, lakes and views.

Travel onto the Grampians for your next overnight stay.

DAY 4

From Halls Gap, head over and visit Grampians Zoo, take the time to wander the walks and hiking trails in the Grampians National Park.

Travel onto Avoca for the night, take the option to visit one or more of the many local wineries. View local Silo Art (Silo Art is a great tour on its own).

DAY 5

Drive back to Ballarat, drop off your motorhome and catch the Melbourne train for some last minute shopping or a Casino visit, then onto the airport.

Or stay and wander around the historic goldfields buildings in central Ballarat. Visit Sovereign Hill or the Ballarat Wildlife Park with its varied menagerie from snakes to tigers, devils to wombats and koalas. Then drop off your motorhome and catch the Airport Shuttle from Ballarat to Melbourne Airport.
